Kindergarteners use the iPad as a Learning Tool!

Parent: “What did you do at school today?”

Child: “We played games on the iPad!”

*womp womp womp*

Game Over!

That is probably what parents are thinking when their child reports that they played games during school time. While it is true that kindergartners use iPads during class time, playing games is furthest from the truth. Kindergarten teachers have spent 2 years researching and have found great apps to enhance and extend learning. Kindergartners discovered apps on their iPads like Friends of Ten, Motion Math’s Hungry Fish, My Story: Bookmaker for Kids and Handwriting Without Tears, not Angry Birds (which does actually have some educational uses.) Students were allowed to explore and discover apps on their iPads these last two weeks. Focused and structured activities have been happening too :)
